ADAM DEAVER
OWNER, TRAINER
I’ve dedicated my life to building meaningful, productive partnerships between dogs and the people who handle them. After serving in the United States Marine Corps, I stepped into professional dog training—traveling across Colorado, Portland, Oregon, Salt Lake City, Utah, and Missouri to learn from top trainers and refine my craft.
In November 2021, I completed NePoPo® Silver School, followed by graduating NePoPo® Gold School in April 2022—developing a system built on clarity, drive, and precision.
Since then, I’ve trained law enforcement K9 teams and private contracting detection K9 teams, certified narcotics and explosives detection dogs, and developed dogs for high-level competition obedience. I actively compete and judge in AKC and NACSW scent work, and continue to push my own dogs in PSA, IGP, and hunt tests—working my Labrador Retriever, Walker Texas Ranger in the field.
Today, I focus heavily on developing the next generation of trainers through our Train the Trainer program—passing on the standards, systems, and mindset required to produce real results.
At MOC K9, our mission is simple: create outstanding canines. We build confident, stable, and clear-headed dogs—whether they’re family companions or high-level working K9s.
Working alongside my team and my own dogs—Maverick, and Walker—I’m committed to producing dogs that can handle the world and owners who know how to lead them.
URIAH ESPINOSA
TRAINER
Uriah Espinosa is a dog trainer based in Castle Rock, Colorado who focuses on play-based training that builds engagement, confidence, and real working relationships between dogs and their handlers. After beginning his career as a kennel technician and spending over a year and a half handling and caring for dogs of all temperaments and energy levels, Uriah developed a deep respect for the natural instincts and drive that dogs possess. He went on to complete a five-month, 1,000-hour apprenticeship at MOC K9, where he further developed his skills in handling, training, and working with a wide range of dogs. That foundation eventually led him into professional dog training, where he now works to help dogs and handlers build clear communication through structured play and purposeful work.
Uriah is especially drawn to high-drive dogs and working breeds. His training philosophy centers around the idea that motivation and relationship come first. When a dog is engaged, confident, and excited to work with their handler, learning becomes faster, clearer, and more reliable. By using play as the foundation for training, Uriah focuses on developing dogs that are mentally engaged, resilient, and eager to work.
A large part of Uriah’s training journey has been shaped by working with his own dog, Ace. Together they train and compete in scent work through the National Association of Canine Scent Work. His accomplishments reflect the play-based training approach that Uriah believes in and continues to develop.
Uriah’s approach to dog training is practical and grounded in real-world work. His goal is to help dogs develop confidence, drive, and clarity while helping handlers better understand how to build a strong partnership with their dogs. Whether working with energetic pet dogs or high-drive working breeds, Uriah focuses on building the kind of relationship where the dog wants to work, wants to learn, and trusts the person on the other end of the leash.
BRIAN RAST
TRAINER
Brian has always been a student and product of work ethic. Having spent nearly a decade of his young adult life in an MMA gym both teaching and competing in wrestling, jiu jitsu and freestyle kickboxing, Brian has a true passion for training and learning. As a full time welder/ironworker, Brian rescued Mila, a reactive stray dog from El Paso TX, who he brought with him from jobsite to jobsite spending his lunch time training around equipment and loud noises. Having established a bond and relationship like no other, he fell into the rabbit hole of dog training.
Since 2022, Brian has started his own training business—Blue Collar K9inc. serving Elizabeth CO. After attending a NePoPo™️ seminar in 2024, he went on to attend the Silver School in Springfield MO in October 2024. In the next coming months, Brian went on to attend and graduate from a Gold School in January 2025.
Brian found his way into MOC K9 after attending a seminar, and kept coming back for more with his Belgian Malinois Bo Katan, to pursue his passion of working dogs in the sport world of IGP & French Ring both as a handler and aspiring decoy. After running a business and helping dog owners for over a year, he wanted to be part of something bigger than himself, and joined the team where he continues to hone his craft and train—every single day.
WHAT WE DO
We are Balanced / Science Based Trainers. We use proven science and phycology like Classical Conditioning (Pavlov) which is learning through associations and we use Operant Conditioning (B.F Skinner) which is learning through consequences both good or bad.
